Conference
organized by the Committee on European Integration together with the
"Group pf Strategic and Security Studios", completed the project
"Transnistria Problem; Vision of Ukraine" (2008-2010), supported by
the International Fund "Vidrodzhennia."
In the meeting took part the People´s Deputies of Ukraine, representatives of Ministries, Departments, Diplomatic bodies, experts and journalists.
In the course of the conference the following issues were discussed: perspectives of interstate cooperation between Ukraine and Moldova, regulation of Transnistria "frozen conflict", international cooperation and informational policy in this sphere, aspects of the citizenship and Ukrainian-Moldova border, relations of different ethnical groups on the territory of both states, partnership in public sector of both sates.
Greeting participant of the meeting, Borys Tarasiuk, the Chairman of the Committee on European Integration emphasized that "the topical relations between Ukraine and Moldova are among the priorities of the foreign policy of Ukraine."
The participants of the conference expressed their visions regarding the
evaluation of the present relations between Ukraine and Moldova and perspective
of their development
in different spheres.
Moreover, the delegates discussed influence level of the Transnistria conflict on the Euro integration attempts and priorities of Ukraine and Moldova and also the practical, international-legal aspect of Transnistria matters regulation. The attention was pointed on the effectiveness of the measures taken in order to strengthen the trust between the Parties, constructiveness of the behaviour of European Union, Russian Federation, United States of America regarding the regulation and informational policy etc.
During the conference, the edition titled "Transnistria Problem: Vision of Ukraine" was presented. The book opens the matters of the strategic interests of Ukraine regarding Moldova, character of the cooperation of Ukrainian and Transnistria business structures, problems of Ukrainian minorities in Transnistria and Moldova and citizenship in bilateral relations Ukraine the Republic of Moldova etc.
